Samples Shortcode

In addition to the Featured News widget that may be used to display 4 cards of latest news, QNRWP-A offers a shortcode for display of work samples.

By default the samples are presented as classical Material Design cards, with an image, title, short description, and a link to the sample. An additional link to a news post about the work can also be set. With custom CSS styling, presentation may be changed as needed.

Samples are created as Posts, and distinguished by their assigned category. Custom Fields are used for the links, while the displayed image is the Post’s assigned featured image.

The shortcode offers control of the number of samples to show, so that the page is not overwhelmed with graphical content that may impact load times. If more samples matching the specified categories are available, a “Load more” button will appear.

July 2018 update: Sample Cards are now created with their own Custom Post Type.
