Web Designs

Showing off my design chops, my portfolio of web samples now features a growing number of PSD designs. Unlike my coded work, the focus in these samples is purely on design.

It must be admitted that the design may suffer when the focus is on programming. To address this issue and reassure clients that my skills in design are not lacking, I have started producing PSD design samples. I say PSD as a matter of convention; these are JPEG files output from Gimp. That said, layered PSD files can be exported if needed.

The point of these samples is to inspire with an indication of possibilities, rather than presenting a complete website. Some if not all of the samples will be in an “unfinished” state, with enough content to make the design direction clear, but the more repetitive and mundane parts toward the bottom of the page left out.

Because animation plays an integral part in user experience of a modern website, these still image samples are limited in their capacity to demonstrate UI/UX skills. Their value is greatest in demonstrating the more risky and unique design ideas, to be evaluated from a purely graphical design standpoint.

Another thing that these samples demonstrate is my writing ability. Not much “Lorem ipsum” there – I can pull words out of thin air.

Two samples to get started (A.ma.ze and OrganiQ), with more to come. I hope you enjoy seeing them as much as I enjoy making them.
